Lambing advice and training

We offer a range of proactive services to encourage a productive lambing season.

• Our hands-on lambing courses teach how to safely correct different malpresentations.
• We can test blood samples taken from each group (singles, twins, triplets) approximately three weeks before lambing. This allows us to check that ewe nutrition is appropriate, helping to prevent loss of body condition and metabolic issues like twin lamb disease.
• Our data analysis service involves recording lamb mortality and still-birth rates to highlight issues that can be tackled in future years.

Sheep club members will also have a pre-lambing meeting, where we can create an effective plan for navigating the lambing season and maximising the number of lambs that make it to market.
